Who we are

Kreiman Chess Academy is an organization dedicated to establishing competitive chess programs along the west coast, as well as promoting the use of chess as an educational tool in the school system. We conduct seminars, courses, tournaments and camps - setting up an exciting and safe environment for kids and their parents. Kreiman Chess Academy was started by Grandmaster Boris Kreiman

Grand Master Boris Kreiman 

- professional chess player and an experienced coach for over 10 years. He has won over 20 international tournaments, participated in 3 World Junior Championships and 3 US Championships. Among his many victories are 1993 and 1996 US Junior Championships, and a 3rd place in the 2002 US Championship in Seattle.He is also a proud receiver of the prestigious Samford Scholarship which is given to the best young chess player in the US by Chess-in-the-Schools in New York City.

A Grandmaster is equivalent to an NBA All-Star basketball player like Shaquille O'Neil. Grandmaster Boris is the Shaquille O'Neil of chess.

All of the instructors at Kreiman Chess Academy are trained and certified by Grandmaster Boris Kreiman. A Grandmaster is the highest ranked title that a chess player can receive and there are only about 40 in the United States. The Grandmaster has taught many national champions such as Gata Kamsky (ranked #2 in the world) and Benjamin Rabinowitz (2003 K-1 National Champion). Along with instructing, Boris is also the monthly columnist for Rank & File, the most popular chess magazine in Southern California.
