News We are excited to announce that this season of the LA Chess Masters will be sponsored by and run in the spirit of Boris Kreiman Chess Academy! with logo just like on the la chess masters website. This tournament exists to help keep LA masters sharp and give them a chance to play Grandmasters and other masters on a regular basis. With this event we want to keep strong master chess alive in Los Angeles! We hope that this event will inspire other players to become masters and thus gain the right to play every week. One way we give non-masters a chance to play is through qualification, on weekly Sunday Night Action tournament. The top U2200 in the Sunday event is granted the right to play in the LA Masters the following week. To ensure the Grandmasters participation, this event runs on sponsorship and donations, to be added to every prize fund. At the moment we have $150 added to each prize fund, which results fantastic prizes.
